Mr. Jody Ian
Goeler
Superintendent
Regional School
District 14
5 Minortown Road
Woodbury, CT 06798
Dear Mr. Goeler:
I remember when the Chief Executive Officer of
British Petroleum was forced to resign his position as a consequence of the
underwater oil leak from the wellhead in the Gulf of Mexico. Clearly he was not an expert on the safety
and security of his company’s oil wells nor did he have firsthand knowledge of
situation prior to the incident.
However, he was the man at the top and someone’s head had to roll. Why?
Because it is the responsibility of the senior leader to define and
establish the corporate culture and to enforce those values at any cost.
Why is it in our culture that we expect private
sector leaders to be ultimately responsible and accountable for the mistakes
which occur on his or her watch, but we don’t expect the same from our leaders
in the public sector? Double standard?
With that said, I don’t believe for a minute you
were unaware of the internet censorship in your school district just as I don’t
believe for a minute that two years of Lois Lerner’s emails have accidentally
disappeared.
Here’s what I think you should do to complete your
assault on liberty because it worked so well for the Germans in the 1930’s and
early 1940’s. Each student should have
to identify their political values, conservative or liberal, and then, so we
can single them out for further indoctrination, you should make all the
conservatives where large “yellow stars”.
This would also greatly enhance your ability to intimidate and persecute
those whose values are different from your own.
Gosh, you might even consider segregating these conservatives from the other students, and, if they don’t
conform, you just simply expel them from your school district.
What do you say Mr. Superintendent – is it worth a
try?
Seriously, the only reason people attempt to
suppress the views and values of another is fear. You need to look in the mirror and ask
yourself, “What am I afraid of?”
Sincerely,
Bill Monroe
